The CZI Community Fund, Supporting Local Nonprofits, Is Now Open

Applications for the 2025 CZI Community Fund will be accepted through June 6.

The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative is excited to announce the launch of the 2025 Community Fund. Now in its ninth grantmaking cycle, the Community Fund supports nonprofit organizations working to build a thriving San Mateo County, California.

Organizations working across San Mateo County can submit applications for the Community Fund online, starting at 8 a.m. PDT on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. The deadline to submit an application is 5 p.m. PT on Friday, June 6, 2025. The application is also available in Spanish.

The Community Fund offers two-year grants of up to $200,000 to help organizations advance community-based solutions that increase access to housing, healthcare, education, job and career skills, and other social supports.

“Local nonprofits are doing the essential work of helping our communities not just survive, but thrive,” says Alma Pulido, who leads the CZI Community Fund. “The Community Fund is one way we’re able to stand alongside these organizations — providing not just funding, but partnership — so they have the flexibility and support to meet urgent needs and create lasting impact.”

The application period will close at 5 p.m. PDT on June 6.
